Question: What are the procedures and requirements
for application?
College programs and admission requirements will
vary. We encourage potential students to use the online
information request form for all schools that you are interested
in attending. Completing the online form will allow a professional
advisor to contact you, and discuss your educational objectives
as related to the institutions procedures and requirements
for application. Completing the online information request
form DOES NOT obligate students as neither
applicants, nor an obligation to pay any fees associated
with application. Fees will also vary based on school requirements,
and you may discuss this information with the individual
advisor following submission of your online information
request form.
Question: When should I begin the financial aid
process?
The ideal time to begin the financial aid process
is the year before you plan to go to college, or begin taking
classes. You should begin applying for financial aid in
November before your first year of college, or roughly nine
months prior to the time when you plan to begin course study.
Always remember that the earlier you apply, the better.
Your Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA,
should be submitted as soon as possible after January 1.
If you are applying for early admission, check with your
college to find out when to submit financial aid forms.
Students who respond earliest have the best chance of getting
the financial aid they need from the school.
Question: What is the FAFSA?
The information you provide on the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used
to determine your eligibility for all federal financial
aid programs. It helps determine how much a family can afford
to pay toward a student's college expenses based on household
income and other factors, including how much you will need
to meet the cost of attending college. A FAFSA form must
be completed each year that you wish to be considered for
financial aid. The new FAFSA form and accompanying instructions
usually become available in November prior to the new school
year. The electronic version typically becomes available
online in January prior to the new school year.
